Tutukaka based Andi Podesta began writing plays in 2011. Her first play won the PANZ (full length) competition. In 2014 her play Give it a Whirl was shortlisted in Playmarket’s ‘Plays for the Young’.
Andi also enjoys writing poetry, has penned several short stories and screenplays and has a passion for New Zealand history and humour. When Andi isn’t writing she will be selling Real Estate in the Whangarei Region.

Set in colonial New Zealand. The story focuses on Kate; a young girl on the brink of womanhood, raised in the isolated region of the Tutukaka Coast. It deals with her struggles – to find where she fits in, in a time when equality, politics and cultural values are tested. Historical fact has been woven in to give a colourful insight of the early settlers’ life in New Zealand.
Suitable for mature audiences.

Middle-aged Nicky finds herself stuck in a rut. Through a comic set of circumstances she discovers that true friendship is the only way free.
